Getting started
- What vaccinations does my dog need?
We require up-to-date vaccinations on bordetella, parvo/distemper, and rabies. Titer tests are also acceptable if you would rather not re-vaccinate.
Upload the records to your profile in our client portal before your first visit, and we will confirm everything is in order before the assessment.
- What happens at the free assessment?
The assessment is complimentary and takes place before your dog’s first full day.
Our trained staff introduce your dog to a couple of team members first, then to a couple of our regular dogs, in a controlled setting. We are watching how your dog greets people, how they read other dogs, and how quickly they settle. Afterwards we will tell you which playgroup we think suits them — but the final decision is always yours.
- Which areas do you serve?
We are at 4025 2nd Ave in Burnaby, and our clients come from Burnaby, Port Moody, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Surrey.
Daycare
- Is there a drop-off deadline?
Yes — dogs need to be dropped off by 11:00 AM.
Enrichment activities start at 9:30 AM and lunch follows at 11:00 AM. A dog arriving mid-session has to be introduced into a pack that has already settled, which is disruptive for everyone. The 11:00 AM cut-off keeps the day calm.
- What does "kennel-free" actually mean?
It means your dog is not put in a crate or a run. Whether they are here for daycare or staying overnight for boarding, they roam freely and safely under our supervision.
We do have quiet resting areas for dogs who prefer some privacy, and a dedicated small-dog area for clients who specifically request it — but those are choices, not enclosures.
- How are the playgroups organized?
By temperament and energy level, not by size.
A calm 50-pound dog often has a much better day with other calm dogs than with a room full of bouncy small ones. Sorting by weight is easy to administer but it is not how dogs actually get along. After the assessment we will recommend the group we think fits, and we will move a dog if the fit turns out to be wrong.
If you would prefer your small dog stay in the dedicated small-dog area, just ask.
Boarding
- Can I board my dog if they don't attend daycare?
No. For safety reasons we only offer boarding to dogs who are already attending daycare.
Boarding is kennel-free and overnight, which means a dog needs to be genuinely comfortable in our space and with our other dogs before they stay. Daycare is how we establish that. If you have a trip coming up, get your dog assessed and into daycare well before you need the boarding.
- Will my dog be left alone overnight?
No. Boarding is offered based on employee availability precisely so that your dog is never left alone.
Grooming & walks
- How do I book grooming?
Contact our groomer, Shiho, directly at 778-887-4106.
Grooming prices vary a great deal depending on your dog’s coat and the service required, so she will quote you herself. Booking grooming does not go through the daycare portal.
- What are the walks, and is my dog eligible?
A 15-minute on-leash group walk in a grassy park in Burnaby, suitable for dogs of any energy level who want a bit of outdoor time in their day.
The one requirement is excellent recall. Group walks only work when every dog in the group reliably comes back.
Booking & rates
- Do packs expire?
Packs expire 90 days from the first date used — not from the date of purchase.
If something comes up and you need more time, ask us. Extension requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.
- Is there a discount for a second dog?
Yes — 50% off the second family dog.
- What counts as a half day?
Under 6 hours is a half day. Over 6 hours is a full day. The drop-off deadline of 11:00 AM applies either way.
- What are your hours?
- Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekends and holidays: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Drop-off is by 11:00 AM on any day.
